I know what it is like to say goodbye to your loved one for a year. My husband is an infantry officer and went to Iraq for the first year of our marriage. I wasn't blogging then, but sure think it would have helped. It's great to have projects and things to keep you busy and your mind off the deployment as much as possible. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Lindsey! Im so glad to hear from someone who has already been through this! thats funny our husbands have the same name :)is his short for Nathaniel too, or nathan? I'm sorry to hear he was injured. I'm glad he is home safe though! You must have been so worried. Every day as the date approaches I am getting more and more nervous. I will definitely be trying to keep busy. I'm thinking he won't even recognize our house when he gets home cause I'll be doing so many projects and decorating while he's gone. Thats so nice that you two got closer through the tour...I hope we have a similar experience. I have made him promise me that he will keep a journal so I can read all his thoughts when he gets back.

I saw your blog over on Holly's blog. My husband (Nate) was also in the military (he was medically discharged b/c he was injured overseas). He was in Iraq from March 2003 to April 2004. It was hard but we made it through! I think it actually made us closer b/c we wrote each other so many letters and had to get creative. I will be thinking about you! Keeping busy will really help the time fly! Good luck!

You have all of us in Decor pad and the blogging world if you need support. I live in San Diego and I am near Camp Pendleton. A lot of the women here are military wives and They have a great support group out here. I can't imagine the stress and worry but I am so proud of the men and women that serve for their country.
